We use a Sterile Pac syringe preloaded with one microchip for each animal. It only takes seconds and can be done at your home where your pet feels comfortable. All you will have to do is fill out the AVID PETtrac Registration form, send it in with a one time $15.00 Enrollment fee. When a shelter finds a chip number, they can call PETtrac’s 24 hour hotline at 800-336-2843 to contact you or your alternative for your pet to come home. PETtrac is the largest recovery network in the world with over 11 million animals registered. PETtrac has over 700 recoveries daily in the United States and over 1200 daily worldwide.
How It Is Done
We come to you! All you have to do is call for a appointment. We only charge you to insert the chip, unless you live more than 75 miles from us. Then we may have to add a small traveling charge. You can also come to us if thats more convenient. Then it is up to you to register your pet with PETtrac, we can assist you if needed. We will supply you with the form and information needed. It is important that you register your pets for a fast, safe return home. If you don't it will take a very long time for them to track the chip to us, then we will contact you.
Pricing
We do give discounts to pet owners with multiple pets! We know how it is having multi pets and the expenses it takes to care for them. We started this to try keeping pets and animals out of kennels and rescue centers. We ourselves have many pets including our dogs, and farm animals which all have microchips. It makes me feel good everyday we don’t have to worry about what will happen if they are lost or stolen. We as a breeder also send our puppies to there forever home with a microchip. This is so I don’t have to worry so much were my puppies will end up. My goal as a breeder is to keep my dogs out of kennels and out of harms way. Most veterinarians will charge around $75.00 for the microchip and also charge an office visit and that was just not in my budget
